KS2 in Space

In KS2, the children are learning about the Solar System, and had to leave the school grounds to explore just how vast it is.

If the Sun were 14 cm wide (instead of its actual width of about 1.39 million km), Earth would be about 1.3 mm wide and about 15 m away. The outermost planet, Neptune, would be over 450 m away.
