Fire in the Playground

The children watched on as their paper and cardboard designs of the buildings of Pudding Lane were lit on fire to re-enact The Great Fire of London.  As part of the Unexplained topic of this term, the children in year 2 have been learning about the event which took place in 1666 and started in a baker's shop. The fire quickly spread due to the timber constructions, which were commonplace for buildings of that time period.
