Visit to The House of Parliament
The School Council walk through the corridors of power.
The children from the school council were fortunate to have a tour of the Houses of Parliament. They learnt the difference between the House of Commons and the House of Lords and also who can become a Lord.
The council members took part in a workshop which illustrated the legislative process of how bills and laws are passed, from white papers and draft bills before the final bill is presented in Parliament to become a part of the law. They had a great day exploring and then had a picnic lunch in the park.
