The National Army Museum
On Monday 6th November, the children from year 5 and year 6 visited the National Army Museum based in Chelsea. They learnt about the equipment used during World War 1 compared to modern equipment used today.
Our children were treated to a visit to Britain's recent history in this trip which included various workshops and demonstrated the different aspects of World War 1.
The children met a soldier in full kit and created memory boxes. They also learnt about the sorting depots and the logistics of how messages were sent and recieved between headquarters and the soldiers. The children even got to try out the different exercises that the soldiers do!
The children had quite an amazing day exploring and learning at the newly refurbished museum in keeping with our whole-school theme of going back in time!
