Bill is a 7 year old corn snake. We have been comparing Bill to the snake that appears in this week’s story, The Gruffalo. The children felt his scales and discovered that he uses his muscles to move along. We talked about his anatomy and the children compared the length of their spines to the length of a snake’s spine. Bill sheds his skin every few months (a process called shedding or ecdysis) and we will be having a look at his skin the next time that this happens.
