Dental Health Day in EYFS
Today was Dental Health Day in EYFS
In the morning, parents joined us for a workshop to discuss oral health and healthy eating. After that, Dental Health Promotor Sharon McLaggan visited the children in their classrooms to talk about why we need to keep our teeth healthy, how we can keep our teeth healthy and the importance of visiting a dentist.
The children learnt that we need to brush our teeth for two minutes twice a day. We were also reminded just to spit, not rinse out. This keeps the protective fluoride on our teeth.
We talked about food and drinks that are good for our teeth (milk, water, fruit, vegetables) and food and drinks that can cause cavities (fizzy drinks, chocolate and sweets).
It was a very informative day!
