John Keble School has many close links with a variety of organisations.
As a Church of England Primary School, we have close links with many of the local churches, particularly All Souls Church, our parish church, St Matthews Church, The Salvation Army, Harlesden Community Church and St Michael and All Angels Church.
John Keble School has many sporting links too. We work with Chelsea Football Club who deliver morning football clubs twice a week in school. We have community links with Queens Park Rangers Football Club, where we attend a range of tournaments and football festivals. All Sports provide two specialist gymnastics clubs for our children and SweetScience deliver boxing clubs in our school to improve fitness levels of our pupils.
Again as a Church of England School, we are part of the London Diocesan Board for Schools. We work very closely with them and our recent SIAMS R.E. Inspection was Outstanding. We have close links with the other Brent Church Schools and meet regularly to exchange ideas. We are currently taking part in a reading project together.
Harlesden School is one of our neighbouring schools. The teachers from same year groups in the two schools meet and support each other again exchanging ideas and looking at standards. We are involved in a joint reading project, Destination Reader, with two other neighbouring schools, Christchurch and St Mary's School. Both these projects are helping improve standards.
We are currently building stronger links with the Brent Music Service (BMS) to enable our children access to the possibility of learning an instrument during their school day. BMS will provide music teachers to tutor the children at a subsidised cost and provide a wide range of opportunities for local children to tap into. Watch this space!
It is great to have links with communities where music is a central part of their ethos, and this is certainly so with our local branch of the Salvation Army. They have a brass band and we are looking forward to the children being able to experience their music first hand and hopefully have them support us in some of our music projects.
