Hi! My name is Ms Eileen Morris and I’m John Keble’s Senior Learning Mentor. The role of the learning mentor is to work with children to develop their learning strategies, starting from the child’s existing strengths. This might be through one to one or small group work, to increase confidence, learn effectively and develop life skills. I’ve worked in educational settings for approximately 20 years with children from birth to 19 and have lots of experience of working with children who are experiencing barriers to learning. I support with confidence building, managing challenging behaviour and problem solving skills. I’m excited to now be working at John Keble!
My name is Kate. I'm a counselling psychologist and integrative therapist and I have been working with the children at John Keble since February 2016. I mostly use the arts and play in order to provide children with a safe therapeutic space in which they can express and explore any difficulties that they might be experiencing. Where helpful I can also introduce them to specific strategies that may help them manage their emotions more effectively. I believe in working with, and supporting the people involved in the child's life such as their family and school staff and will always make myself available should parents ever want to drop in.
My name is Coach Eddie. I am a part-time school learning mentor. I work with children 1:1 and in groups to raise confidence, build relationships and overcome barriers to learning. Part of my role is to ensure that all children are included in school and feel they have a significant role in life. This helps all children succeed at John Keble School.
