Trips this term:
Museum of London (9th May) – The children enjoyed the interactive displays and learning about the history of London. They also loved seeing the Whitechapel fatberg. They enjoyed the films the museums had on show, particularly the fire of London. The children learnt a huge amount about the history of the city.
London walking tour – focusing on the bridges (23rd May) - The children loved seeing the centre of the city and making sketches. Year 5 started at the South Bank to observe and explore London landmarks. They were so excited about seeing the landmarks up close. They said they found walking over the bridges scary as some had never been there before. It was a memorable and invaluable first-hand experience of their city. The trip helped the children to realise how effective observational drawings could help to understand landscapes. They all drew a bridge to illustrate their learning.
Convent School & Newman Catholic College (13th June) – The children overjoyed to meet the different teachers and a tour of the school grounds. They especially loved doing the practical science experiments in the lab, as well as learning some basic Italian. They wanted to stay the whole day! The children are excited about attending secondary school themselves and have a better understanding of how secondary schools function.
