Year 5

Welcome to the Year 5 page.

Thursday 25th March: Some of the children have been learning about the chocolate making process from bean to bar and are writing explanation texts. We will share a finished piece in due course.

This week, the children were food critics and evaluating their creations. There were 3 criteria - execution, appearance and taste (EAT).

Thursday 18th March 2021: The children have been learning about how food is grown, reared, caught and processed. They have learnt about seasonality and designed their own healthy recipes using food  in season in this country (food without air miles!), which they will be making themselves tomorrow.

This week some of the children have been writing spooky stories using atmospheric foreshadowing.

In maths some of the children have been practising measuring different items in school including using trundle wheels to measure the playground.

The children have been learning about what happens in churches over Easter in religious education and how it might impact a believer's life.
